Come, Sit Down Beside Me

Come sit down beside me, I said to myself.

And although it doesn’t make sense,

I held my own hand as a small sign of trust

And together I sat on the fence.

– Michael Leunig

On those days when we feel that we don’t fit in, when we feel so alone, like no-one understands, we can sit beside ourselves.

We can be there for ourselves.

We can offer ourselves comfort

On those heavy, lonely days.
