She Let It All Go

One day.

Just like that!

She let go of the struggle. She let go of the stress.

She let go of the self-attacking voices in her head.

She let go of the need to have it all figured out.

She let go of the fear of what could happen up ahead.

She let go of the judgments, and the need to do things right.

She let go of the anguish, and the tension, and heartache.

She didn’t make it happen.

She didn’t seek for help.

She wasn’t with a counsellor, a therapist, or priest.

She didn’t sit and journal, or go on some retreat.

She didn’t seek advice, or talk to family or friends.

She simply let it go.

She’d had enough.

And that was that.

And as she let it go, she breathed a sigh.

For she was free.

Dare to live by letting it go.” – Tom Althouse

  1. Sometimes it’s that simple—just let go.

This reminds me of the story of a guy who had a dripping faucet that kept getting the floor wet. First, he bought a better mop. Next he googled, “Improving Mopping Technique.” Finally, in a moment of inspiration, he checked the faucet. It simply needed to be turned completely off.
