“If you see something beautiful in someone, speak it.” – Ruthie Lindsey
We’re experts at seeing all our failings and our flaws. And we all need to hear that there’s something good in us. Because we find it hard to see that there’s something good in us.
So don’t hold back when you notice something good. You’ve no idea the difference it could make to someone’s day.
Fabulous, DLH. Something I try to always be mindful of

Agreed. I’ve found it helpful to let others know up front that I’m a networker who enjoys helping and encouraging others. Otherwise, some may be skeptical of my motives. God Bless!

In some ways it’s sad that we need to be upfront in case people are skeptical of our motives … but it is also wise. Thanks so much for your input David. Always appreciated!

I completely agree. My pastor’s wife always says ‘ if you think it then thank it’ meaning we might think something good about someone but not always do we verbalise it.

Positive affirmation is so important. I have learned I often tend to withhold or doubt praise or affirmation but it is something I am working on. I am really lucky to be surrounded by a lot of people who affirm me more after all the work of therapy.. it feels so good and helps one’s at times fragile self concept even though I know that is work we must do from within ourselves.

Great to hear from you, emergingfromthedarknight. Although we are the ones who have to do the internal work, I feel it really helps to have others in our lives who genuinely affirm us. Thanks for sharing from your personal experience 🙂
